Goldberg’s Deli

I had lunch at Goldberg’s last week and was pleasantly surprised with their gluten free menu. You can substitute hamburger buns and/or bread with gluten free bread. Shocker…the gluten free bread stayed together and tasted delicious!  I ordered the BLT with fruit and left totally satisfied. The portions are large so I left with a tasty treat for later. I would highly recommend Goldberg’s during your next visit to Avalon.

Crust

Crust is a great place to get pizza! It has the best gluten free crust that I’ve ever had. They have a large variety of toppings to choose from. I would recommend calling in advance for a table because the wait can get really long. The atmosphere is really cool with brick walls, great patio, and a brick pizza oven. The restaurant it located in downtown Alpharetta, on main street.

Serendipity 3

Serendipity 3 is a great place to get some great desserts, but the best one is the frozen hot chocolate! You’re probably thinking, “Hot chocolate can’t be frozen because it’s hot!” That’s what I thought too, but it’s in a frozen state. I’m going to warn you that the portion is huge. My family and I got one to share, and we didn’t finish it. So over all Serendipity 3 is a really good place to get desserts. You might have seen the movie Serendipity filmed in New York City. Several scenes are filmed in this restaurant. TIP- go early because the restaurant is small and there will be a long line.

Ellen’s Stardust Diner

Ellen’s Stardust Diner is a great place to eat and to get some good entertainment. The Stardust Diner is located near Times Square in the Theater District. There are a lot of gluten free options on the menu. I had the gluten free lasagna that was AMAZING! I also had some gluten free cake. It was drizzled with strawberry and chocolate sauce. I was also impressed with the performances by the waiters and waitresses. If you’re in New York I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Harvest Bread Company

Great Harvest Bread Company, or as it should be called BAD Harvest Bread Company. I’m not trying to be hurtful, I’m just sharing my opinion. First of all the gluten free bread is HORRIBLE! It was very dry, tasted terrible, crumbled up so easily, and was so cold it was almost unbearable! They had several different gluten free breads to try. My dad and I tried two different types of bread and they had unpleasant tastes. I was disappointed that they did not have gluten free cookies. The tomato basil soup was plain and needed more flavor. My parents thought the price was high for what  we got.  So,basically what I’m trying to say is that Great Harvest Bread Company isn’t the best place to eat.

Chipotle

Chipotle is  very conveniently located near North Point Mall. It’s my favorite Mexican fast food restaurant out there. And that saying  a lot! If you have Celiac’s Disease and you like Mexican food this is a good place for you because the menu is 90% gluten free! Everything except for the flour tortillas are safe! I highly recommend the burrito bowl. You pick your meat and toppings to go inside your corn tortilla hard shell bowl. Another option is to not have a shell at all. You can just eat it in a regular bowl. Chipotle also has great veggies that taste very fresh!

Fickle Pickle

The Fickle Pickle is a great place to eat. I will warn you that it is very crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. They have their own gluten free menu that has great tasting food. The last time I went to the Fickle Pickle I ordered a  bun less burger with two pickles that were tasty! The fries are also delicious and gluten free! You can get refills for free! The location is within walking distance from downtown Roswell. Kids also eat free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays!

Five Guys

Five Guys makes a five star burger in my opinion! The burger is very flavorful and juicy. Skip the bun and order an extra serving of fries! The fries are cooked to perfection and are gluten free! CAUTION…  This is not a good restaurant for people with nut allergies.  The Five Guys on Winward Parkway has an awesome Coke machine that allows you to choose your flavor!
